Amazon is selling battery-operated heated underwear to keep you warm this winter The Sun

TEMPERATURES plummeted this week but Amazon think they have the solution - heated pants.

The Smart Heated Panties are rechargeable and battery powered, with a 12-hour life span on the 'winter warmer' setting.

Costing £41, they're not the cheapest knickers out there, but if you're prone to feeling the cold you may want to take the hit.

The high-waisted pants are also a good alternative to a hot water bottle on your time of the month, although we're unsure about the scientific claims QQA make.

The pants claim to protect health and fertility, regulate the uterus and help with anti-inflammatory repair.

They have five settings, but some gears are too hot for extended use - so stick to four hours max for gear two, one hour for gear three, and five minutes for gear four.

Get in gear

Gear 1: 37C - winter warm (12 hour use time)

Gear 2: 40C - palace cold (8 hour use time)

Gear 3: 45C - menstrual condition (6.5 hour use time)

Gear 4: 50C - relieves period pain (6 hour use time)

Gear 5: 'Intelligent switching' between 40-50C - daily health (4 hour use time)

The pants are suitable for daily use and come in a soft polyester-spandex blend.

But you have to hand-wash them, making sure you remove the battery beforehand.

If these pants aren't cutting it, Aldi is also selling a heated throw to keep you warm.
