Is Boomtown Fair cancelled?

Boomtown Fair 2019 is not cancelled.

Festival go-ers became worried after both Houghton Festival and Boardmasters Festival were cancelled at the last minute due to bad weather conditions.

Although the festival is continuing, there are two weather warnings in place this weekend, so conditions may not be ideal.

Boomtown 2019 kicked off on August 7 and runs until today (August 11).

What are the weather conditions during the festival?

As of August 11, it looks as if fans will have to deal with some rainy weather conditions while trying to get into the festive spirit.

It’s already been advised that those who are attending the occurrence this year should come prepared: Having a raincoat on you will do wonders once at the event, it would seem.

With that said, the weather will see a drastic change tomorrow (Sunday, August 11), which will also be the final day of Boomtown Fair, with temperatures peaking at 21 degrees.

Best of all, however, there’s no rain to be expected throughout the day.

What’s the latest on Boomtown Fair 2019?

On the day of the festival’s launch, Boomtown announced that it will not have front of house drug testing for concertgoers this year.

Apparently, “complex negotiations” saw The Loop pull out from providing the service this year, which seemed to have a lot of fans feeling concerned.

An official spokesperson has since revealed: "We were informed towards the end of last week, the provision of this service at this year’s festival may no longer be possible.

“Since then, we have been working around the clock with all the key stakeholders to try to find a resolution, however, despite all of our efforts, the ongoing legal complexities has meant that The Loop are unable to provide the front of house drug safety testing element of their valuable and respected services at this year's event.”

It was further assured that Boomtown will be providing extensive medical and welfare support onsite while The Loop will still be in attendance to provide one-on-one counselling.
