A TEENAGER accused of stabbing to death schoolgirl Brianna Ghey broke down in court as she blamed her co-accused.

Referred to as Girl X, she was 15 when Brianna, 16, was knifed 28 times.

Speaking from behind a curtain, she said she saw Boy Y stab Brianna five times in Warrington, Cheshire, in February.

She previously claimed that Brianna had left her and Boy Y, also on trial for murder, in the park to go and meet a lad.

Yesterday she said she went to “hang out” with Boy Y and Brianna.

Girl X said: “I thought I would walk around.

“I heard a noise and saw Boy Y stabbing Brianna.”

Cross-examined by Richard Littler KC, for Boy Y, the girl admitted messaging him saying, “Let’s stab her” but said it was part of a fantasy.

The 16-year-old's family described her as ''a much loved daughter, granddaughter, and baby sister''.

In a statement, her loved ones added: ''She was a larger than life character who would leave a lasting impression on all that met her.
