Chinese Super League club have sensational 4m bid for Scunthorpe striker Kevin van Veen rejected

THE Chinese Super League have bizarrely attempted to follow up the glamorous signings of Oscar and Carlos Tevez with a League One player.

Scunthorpe striker Kevin van Veen confirmed to Fox Sports Netherlands that a club in China have bid an astonishing £4m for his services.

The Dutchman said: "It is true, this is really unbelievable.

He went on to say that if a bid is accepted he would be more than happy to make the move.

Van Veen added: "If that happens, then I'm all for it. It would be very stupid not to do it.

"I can earn so much, then I never have to work again. Truly once in a lifetime. Really incredible".

But Scunthorpe have incredibly REJECTED the advances from the Far East.

The Iron have a wealthy owner in £350m businessman Peter Swann and are desperate to secure promotion to the Championship.

They are currently top of League One, a point clear of second place Sheffield United and eight points ahead of Bolton in third.

Despite the slight embarrassment of being rejected by Scunthorpe, clubs in the China have had some success in the transfer market today.

Changchun Yatai signed Watford's Odion Ighalo for £20m while Villarreal and former Chelsea striker Alexandre Pato has joined Axel Witsel at Tianjin Quanjian.
