Gemma Collins reveals FOUR medical reasons why she struggles to lose weight as she hits back at body

GEMMA Collins today revealed FOUR medical reasons why she struggles to lose weight.

The popular TV star, 42, hit back at body-shamers, as she opened up about her health.

Gemma, who stripped off for The Real Full Monty this week, has now talked about her secret health issues, which impact her weight.

The Towie favourite has an underactive thyroid, Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), metabolic syndrome and low iron levels

Gemma told MailOnline: "I've always loved myself. To be honest, I've never looked at myself and thought, ''Oh, I'm disgusting'. I mean, there's always b******t I could do with losing a bit of weight.

"But as I say, you know, I'm not going to spend my life being unhappy. I've got four things going against me before I've even started with PCOS, the underactive thyroid, and the metabolic syndrome.

"You know, it's all these things, but I'm constantly at a negative before I'm at a positive. I don't let it get me down.

"This is me."

Gemma also admitted to The Sun, she is going to "enjoy Christmas" and not "worry about calories".

The GC told us: "I don’t leave the house in the winter, I don’t move. The only thing I do is walk the dog.

"Apart from the odd walk and a swim, I’m going to thoroughly enjoy my Christmas like everyone else.

"You might see me bust out a sweat in the New Year, as soon as the weather gets better, I get more inclined to do it but when it’s like this, just minimal walking is kind of what I can do.

"I’m going to be honest, I just don’t have the motivation in the winter."

The ex-Towie star revealed exactly what a Christmas looks like in the GC household and it includes cracking open a bottle of Louis Roederer Champagne in the morning.

"I don’t give a s*** hun, I don’t calorie count anyway. I’ll be eating that Terry’s Chocolate Orange," she told us.

She laughed: "We don’t drink Prosecco in the GC house, I can’t stand Prosecco I find it too sweet.

"We wake up, mum and dad will be over.

"We crack open a bottle Louis Roederer, exchange some gifts and have a little chat, put the Christmas carols on, dad’s going to cook this year which I’m really looking forward to because other years I’ve had chefs and all of that.

"We’re just reigning it back – we just want a bit of normality."
