PRINCE William and Kate Middleton took a "trip down memory lane" as they enjoyed fish and chips at their old favourite student takeaway.
The royal couple returned to St Andrews in Scotland, where they first met as students 20 years ago, before making a detour to Anstruther Fish Bar.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were said to be "regulars" at the chippy when they studied at St Andrews University.
They popped in to say hello and staff and ate their haddock and chips on a bench by the harbour before returning for ice cream.
After polishing off their lunch the couple strolled along the seafront and popped back inside the chippie's Brattesani ice cream parlour for dessert.
Owner Alison Smith, 59, revealed William, 38, had cookies and cream and mint choc-chip while Kate chose Scottish tablet in a gluten-free cone during an unscheduled stop-off yesterday on their tour of Scotland.
Alison said: "They were customers of ours almost 20 years ago when they were at university.
'TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE'
"We were honoured to serve them fish and chips back in the day when to us they were just William and Catherine Middleton.
"We haven't seen them since so we got the surprise of our life.
"They had someone come in and get fish and chips for them.
"We were unaware until a customer said the Duke and Duchess were sitting out on a bench.
"It was a beautiful scene. We could see them out the window, the two of them in sunshine up the pier enjoying fish and chips.
"Just themselves. It was a lovely scene.
"They walked back along the shore front and it was a lovely occasion. It was so nice to see them back.
"Just getting over the excitement of that and who should walk into our ice cream parlour but the couple themselves.
"It was a lovely visit. We thanked them for coming in. They were so friendly and delight to talk to.
"William said it is just as good if not better than all of 20 years ago. He was delighted to be back again.
"The duchess said it was a little trip down memory lane and that they couldn't be up this way and not have fish and chips."
The Duke and Duchess made the stop off in between meeting students at St Andrews University and greeting fisherman in Anster.
The couple are visiting Scotland for a week after Wills was appointed Lord High Commissioner by The Queen.
