Mum left shocked after a man slaps her daughter on the bottom so is ever ok to discipline s

A MUM who says she’s never smacked her own kids, was left shocked when a man slapped her daughter.

So it it ever ok to discipline someone else’s child?

Speaking anonymously on parenting site Mamam!a, the mum explained what happened and why she wasn’t OK with it.

She said: “My daughter has ADHD.

“She pushes boundaries...she’s really hard work at times.

“She’s also fiercely loving and loyal and honest and wonderful in so many ways.”

The mum was understandably shocked when she came to collect her daughter from an after school activity only to hear her daughter had been slapped.

Her daughter came up to her yelling: “He slapped me! He slapped me on the bottom!”

Other mums were quick to confirm the little girl was telling the truth, explaining to the distressed mum they’d seen the whole thing.

The mum said: “Obviously my first concern was for my daughter.

“She told me that the slap had left a red mark, but by the time I looked, it had gone.

“She told me it didn’t hurt anymore.”

The mum addressed the man in question, who was the parent leader for the after school activity.

She explained she never smacked her kids and didn’t believe in hitting children.

The man just stared at the ground.

“It was obvious he knew what he’d  done was completely out of line and he was going to be in trouble over it.”

The outcome was that the offending man was asked not to return as a parent leader.

When an official representative of the group rang to apologise and to ask if the mum wanted to press chargers, she said no.

“I didn’t want to make my daughter relive the experience when she seemed to have put it behind her."

“I didn’t feel the overpowering rage against this man that I thought I would feel.

“He’d done the wrong thing...I knew it, he knew it, everyone knew it.

“But he was just a parent who had volunteered for a role that he probably wasn’t suited to.

“I didn’t want to bring charges against him, and maybe have him end up with a criminal record.

“I will still never smack either of my kids.

“I never want them to fear me, and I never want them to feel that violence, in any form, is acceptable.”
