Oxford's Christmas market on Broad Street was almost cancelled after the inclusion of a cycle lane which saw its original organiser pull out.

A MAN’S scalp was left lying in the road after he was the victim of a brutal “machete attack” in Manchester.
The incident is thought to have happened in the car park of the Active iTRAIN in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, at around 7pm yesterday evening.
Witnesses say the man’s injuries were caused by a machete, according to reports but the extent of his injuries is not known.
Grizzly photos taken at the scene appeared to show what looked like a scalp lying on the floor but this wasn’t confirmed by the Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

A GROUP of men dressed as Nazi SS death troopers sparked fury at a 1940s festival - before cops escorted them away following a fight.
Pictures show at least ten men in leather trench coats, SS markings on their collars, Swastikas and evil 'Totenkopf' skull badges.
Eyewitnesses claim the men were "laughing and joking" outside a pub at Sheringham 1940s Weekend in North Norfolk on Saturday.
