I transformed a grotty playhouse kitchen for my daughter using super easy DIY tricks - now it looks

A SAVVY mum shared how she transformed a grotty, second hand playhouse kitchen for her daughter.

Kylie Katich found the old plastic kitchen in a local charity shop, but knew her kid would love it with a few DIY tweaks.

Since the mum was already making a playhouse for the tot, she decided to buy the toy kitchen - and priced at just $10 (£7.64) she had nothing to lose.

"It's falling apart and kind of ugly, so we're gonna give it a glow up," she said on TikTok.

First, Kylie got to work scraping the old stickers off the outside of the kitchen.

She used Goo Gone to help remove the sticky residue without picky and scraping for ages.

"After I removed all the decals I made sure it was clean and got ready for painting," she explained.

Luckily, the DIY whizz had some leftover paint from the playhouse she transformed, so she put it to use on the kitchen.

Instead of the bright and garish pink shades, Kylie opted for light and subtle pinks instead.

She continued: "I applied the final coats of paint and noticed that the old oven had HD photos that were similar to Costco advertising.

"In an ideal world those would be glass, but you know what's close enough, a mirror."

Kylie glued the mirrors into the spots were the pictures were and showed off the finished result.

"Now this $10 kitchen looks like an expensive Montessori dream," she raved.

"I love that it's all matching and it has so many cute features, like the stovetop really steams and the sink had a tube I could connect to a bucket of water," Kylie added.

Other parents were impressed with the transformation, one commented on the clip: "This is absolutely stunning!"

And another said: "I love the colours, I would've been obsessed with this as a kid."
