AFTER splurging in the January sales, most of us might be tempted to have a clear out and sell stuff we no longer wear.
Though it can be hard to make your money back, one Vinted seller has shared an easy way to reduce delivery costs.
As with most life hacks, this handy tip came from Tiktok.
Originally shared by content creator @yougettimeto, she is one of the many Vinted sellers helping to boost your listings this year.
Having sold second hand clothes and handmade jewellery, the teacher has received countless reviews from happy customers on the resale app.
Despite this, she has managed to keep delivery costs down thanks to a little known hack.

Rather than buying her jiffy bags or envelopes from Amazon, she gets them for free instead and puts the extra money she saves towards postage fees.
Whilst this hack might seem too good to possibly deliver, the content creator explained it was a perk of signing up for a UPS account.
Even better, you have the option to specify what packaging you want instead of buying multiple packets in varying sizes and styles.
Showing off her haul, the influencer told her followers: “I ordered these boxes which I have to keep under my dining table and they’re doing my boyfriend’s head in.”

Though this hack could help boost your bank balance, some users have struggled to get it to work for them.
According to the British UPS website, you can "get free UPS shipping supplies including packaging, forms and labels. Log in or create a new username to start your order".
If you are still looking to make some extra cash on Vinted, other seasoned sellers have offered their tips and tricks.
This includes Jodi Rix, who claims to have made over £1k in a few months by selling old clothes on the app.
As for how she made so much money, a lot of the items she sold were originally purchased in high-street retailers like Zara, Topshop and H&M.
However, she also sold items from sports brands like Nike and Adidas, as well as unused make-up products, for higher prices to bump up her total.
What you need to know before selling on Vinted:
One in six people say they buy used items, according to research commissioned by review site Trustpilot.
And HMRC is now cracking down on people who earn extra income through various side hustles.
Selling for profit makes you a reseller and means you’ll be expected to fill in a tax return and pay what they owe the HMRC every year.
The taxman is also going directly to Vinted as of January 1 this year, making the app responsible for recording the same information and handing it over to HMRC.

Those who don't sell very often or as a profitable side hustle don't need to worry.
If you make no more than £1,700 for fewer than 30 sales in a reporting period, information is not required to be provided to HMRC.
